The trend of stacking necklaces with different lengths is exposing the world to a whole new level of expression with jewelry, while allowing individuals to create their own unique combinations with their favorite necklaces. This trend is a fun and lively way to spice up any plain outfit.
“I love layering my necklaces,” Sophie Epstein ’17 said, “It’s so cool how it can make any plain necklace look completely different and interesting.”
“I always have a hard time layering my necklaces together,” Shelby Lake ’17 said with a smile, “I think it’s so hard to make them all fit together.”
The increase in popularity of the trend has lead to an increase in everyday sight and the appreciation for the look is growing as well. Even though this new style is hot at the moment, it wasn't always perceived in that positive light. In the beginning , layering necklaces took a while to really catch on and was thought of as an awkward and odd way to wear jewelry.
“Why would you want to put necklaces on top of eachother?” Colleen Bannon ’17 said, “I don't understand the obsession with hiding jewelry that you spent money on.”
